Frequently Asked Questions

Here’s what to expect and how to get started.

🧭 Getting Started

What can I expect in the first session?

Our first session is a chance for us to get to know each other. We’ll talk about what’s bringing you to therapy, what you hope to work on, and how we might approach the process together.

For teens, I typically begin with a brief conversation with a parent or caregiver to gather background information before transitioning into individual work with the teen.

How do I get started

I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation to see if we’re a good fit. There’s no pressure — just an opportunity to ask questions and share what you’re looking for.

🗓️ Sessions & Logistics

How long are sessions?

Sessions are 50 minutes long and usually held weekly, although we can adjust the schedule based on your needs.

Do you offer in-person or online therapy?

At this time, I offer teletherapy only for clients located anywhere in California. All sessions are held securely online.

🎯 Areas of Focus

What issues do you work with?

I work with teens and adults navigating a range of challenges, including:

  • Anxiety and depression

  • Trauma and chronic stress

  • Life transitions and identity exploration

  • Low self-esteem and perfectionism

  • Relationship or family conflict

If you're unsure whether I’m the right fit, feel free to reach out — I’m happy to talk it through.

💳 Fees & Insurance

How much do sessions cost?

  • Rate: $200 per 50-minute session

  • Sliding scale: A limited number of reduced-fee spots are available — feel free to inquire

  • Payment method: I use Ivy Pay, a secure payment app that accepts all major credit cards

Do you take insurance?

I am an out-of-network provider. If your insurance plan includes out-of-network mental health benefits, I can provide a superbill that you may submit for partial reimbursement.
I recommend contacting your insurance provider directly to confirm your out-of-network benefits.

🔐 Confidentiality & Privacy

Is what I share in therapy confidential?

Yes. Your privacy is protected by law, and what you share in therapy is confidential.

There are a few legal exceptions, such as if there is a risk of harm to yourself or others, or if required by a court order. We’ll review confidentiality and privacy policies in detail during our first session.
